Government Grants

Hi taftap. You know what I actually joked that I could get MORE $ if I got a divorce. I didn't of course, I love my hubby too much for that. The whole thing with my SSI was so darn crooked. Now I need to dig out from the damage it left. Sounds like you got the same raw deal. It's not easy. Trust me, I sympathize. Good luck.

free money to help pay bills

in response to alwaysinapinch...   Hi always. Trust me, I hear you. I've searching for 2 years for a job after being kicked off of SSI. Got my resume on every online job bank possible! All I get is these BS scam ads. I've been sticking to Careerbuilder.com. At least they weed out the crappy jobs. If you want to work at home, try workathomecareers.com. Again, they filter out all the BS and get to the real jobs. Hope thishelps some. Missy101

politics

Hey Lunar*star! Missy 101 here. Hope you're not getting your checks pulled. MAN, THAT SUCKS! BIG TIME! Believe me, I hear what you're saying. I said something pretty close when my last check cleared the bank. Knew I'd be living pretty tight from then on. The political big shots in DC need to live off of a SSI check for a month and survive. They'd learn pretty fast how the other half really lives. LOL!

Government Grants

Hi. I'm wondering if anyone out there can give me some good advice. I'm disabled with seizures and have been told that I can only work from home part- time. I have been looking for over 2 years, even with the help of Vocahational Rehab. I was on SSI until they removed me due to my husband's income. His monthly take home pay just covers the budget, so we are slowly going into medical and credit card debt. OUCH! Unfotunately, when I lost my SSI payments, I also lost Mediciad. So, I am now on my husband's plan at work, but with the premiums and co-pays, of course. Scary RX bills. It's myself, husband and child on one very modest income. Does anyone out there know of a grant to help a disabled parent get out debt to get a grip on their household budget
? Better yet, does anyone know of a disabled-friendly employer that they could recommend applying to
? Believe me, any help is appreciated. After 2 years of job hunting, I'm beginning to lose hope of finding something and helping my family out of this mess.
